Things are not what they seem, it is so hard to trust what you hear or see in this day and age but what he did was unethical, it’s a shame as a journalist that he stooped that low and did something like that.
I think a few of the photographs in major US or British newspaper probably use some type of photoshopping or negative altering to get rid of certain minor distractions in news photographs. Especially when cameras are switching to digital. I think this is fine, but making a serious merging of two scene is going to get them caught. There are many people with keen observation skills out there. It’s better to be safe and don’t cheat.
Sometimes magazine ads can be very boring and disorienting when almost all of the ads has some type of photoshopping. I like to see real images instead images that defies common sense or images that defies the natural way we see details. ;~>
I think it’s all in the intention and in this case it’s to deceive, and it’s a news photo that should not have been done at all, I can understand photoshopping for commercial purpose because perfection is everything. I like real photos, sometimes a little imperfection only adds warmth to the photo. I know a lady that photoshops her personal photo by removing the lines and wrinkles and made herself looks years younger, seeing the photo in comparison to her is like day and night, scary thought that people would actually do that.
As an environmentalist, I’m disgusted.
