How to embed mp3 players into your blog
November 2, 2007 by Sim
How do I get music on my blog? In order for this to work you must have a wordpress blog with an mp3 player plugin - download. If you’ve sign up with WordPress, you should already have it after sign up.

FAQs:
Where do I get my mp3 links?
Get it from an mp3 public search engine (where the music isn’t copyright or allowed under fair use) or upload your mp3 to a server where you can host it. Then link the location of your mp3 to your mp3 player. I may do another writeup on how to host your mp3s if you want to start your own free radio station. Here is the link - click here.
Where do I insert my mp3 link?
Insert where the red text are:
[audio http://mysong...MP3|leftbg=0xEE82EE|rightbg=0xFF00FF|
lefticon=0xFFFFFF|righticon=0xFFFFFF|loop=yes]
Where is the link to get colors code?
I got from Nye’s site, this is the link to get different colors.
I click play and there is no sound?
The url is wrong.
I keep getting a bunch of garbled text but no mp3 player?
Make sure you leave a space after the word audio, like this:
[audio ]
or make sure you leave a colon after the word audio, like this:
[audio: ]
Why are my Mp3 player buttons are all black?
Because the mp3 plugin in your wordpress blog doesn’t support certain colors. In that case, try to use colors that works.
How can I add text in the player? Why isn’t the artist name and song name on my Mp3 player?

Normally, for the player to show the title and artist, the information must be encoded into your mp3 file as ID3 tags. But this won’t work if you are using WordPress under WordPress’s domain. The WordPress team modified the flash player’s code which somehow disable this feature, intentionally or accidentally. You’ll probably better off getting your own webspace with a WordPress and the mp3 player plugin.
The player won’t show up. I only see just the code itself. It’s named correctly, with no spaces, all lowercase, and the mp3 tag at the end.
One thing that might be causing the problem is if you are pasting it into the visual editor. You need to past it into the code (html) editor.

Can I put more than one song in a single player?
Yes. Step 1) Click html. Step 2) Start typing your desired code. Step 3) Save and preview.

I tried everything and my blog doesn’t show an MP3 button?
You need to install the player plugin into your wordpress. Here’s a website that explains that. http://www.ourmedia.org/node/328450
I don’t have a wordpress blog.
See this tutorial to add an audio player to a nonWordPress blog.
I like to hear more sample songs?
Here you go…broadcast freely from PMVibes. Category: vocal trance
Looks great Sim, I am going to have to right this all down…

Thanks Sim, you are the best
Thanks. I hope you guys think it was not too hard to follow. My new video on “how to host your mp3″ is slower and less dizzy.
Is this possible to use if I only update my posts through WordPress’s interface and not through softwares like Macromedia?
Yes. Just upload an mp3 file somewhere on the internet (like mediamax) and link to it like this [audio ] with the address inside. Like this:
[audio http://www.mediamax.com/
bding817/Hosted/Podcasts/jan132008masteraudio.mp3]
The player works with files that are encoded at 44.1kHz.
Hi Sim. I found your tutorial very interesting. everything’s clear but one… How can I add track text (artist - song) in the player?
Normally, for the player to show the title and artist, the information must be encoded into your mp3 file as ID3 tags. But this won’t work as long as you’re on WordPress domain.
Does this player work with WP 2.5.1 because I get an ‘error opening file’ everytime, and I have double checked everything.
Sure would be good to get this great player working on my site.
Ignore my previous post please. I have sorted it.
Great player, well cool.
David
