I agree with you on this one, I think a good quality product doesn’t necessary mean yielding more cost, but it just means that it’s a great design from the product engineer.  What I’ve noticed lately is that people see the important of quantity over quality and I can’t say that it’s good for their business or the economy as a whole, take for instance, recall for products because the designs were bad, the company take a big hit on this plus bad publicity to go along with it.  If they make a great product to begin with, as you said, ‘product with soul’, then it’ll last longer, to add on to what you’ve said ‘Happy workers will yield quality products’ and happy consumers. :)
